Haha I agree.

I'll have new pictures of my Bill Boston in the next few days, working on getting the final pieces together.

Would you mind sharing the serial number on your '79 Santana? Mine is SE954.

Here is the Santana I was given this summer by a friend I've know since 1982. His wife gave it to him in 1983 for their 25th anniversary. I think it is older than an '83.

Holiday did you start this thread just to torture me? I am sure everyone here knows I would love a tandem (infact I would trade that Bertoni FunnyBike for one) but I simply have no room for it, it would be difficult to get up the stairs and get into my apartment, and then I would have to put up with cheap C&V types wanting to go for a ride all the time LOL.

I did see a real beautiful Burley for sale on my way from the T-town swap down to KoP to meet some friends. I'll see if I can find the pics.

This is fabulous!

I don't think mere words can describe this.

Judging from the size of that big ring this couple must really truck along.

Very nice Gnome, better a starter tandem than no tandem

Easier said than pedaling the beast up a hill BG! But it did provide the platform for getting my youngest into cycling. A few years back we did a 50 mile charity ride on it. He thought it was a race and thought we were the fastest thining on two wheels!

So ya, as heavy and whippy as it is......it's a good thing

A Bilenky tandem we see in Center City...it's actually owned by a local frame builder who used to work for Bilenky:

Yes. I use a piece of shock cord to keep the pedals properly oriented because of the toe clips. I originally saw it done on an Rene Herse tandem so I figured it was permissible.

Would you mind sharing the serial number on your '79 Santana? Mine is SE954.
SE778. Santana things it is an early one, but my understanding is that the builders were free to make up whatever serial numbers they wanted until the early 80's. The date codes on the compoents are all late 70's.

Here is a 1991 Schwinn DuoSport I recently put together for the three of us. Surprisingly light for a steel tandem, and I get a kick out of the almost comically oversized lugs.

Who cares about permissible, that's really clever.
