Can't find people at $18-20 an hour to do simple work with sign on bonuses.
Okay, I'll play this game. Here is a report from the non-partisan Congressional Research Service on real wage trends in the US. Lots of info, but you can see the takeaway on page 4: at the 50th percentile (i.e., roughly the median), the real wage rate grew by a whole 8.8% in the forty year period from 1979 to 2019.

Here is some very recent BLS data which shows that the real median wage in the US has actually fallen slightly over the last 12 months.

Facts are fun.

(I believe 50th percentile is BY DEFINITION the median)

"Congratulations!" I said, "You've reinvented the pocket watch!", and pulled out the one I was carrying.

His comment wasn't researched, it was propaganda combined with age sourced. While not really relevant to you my sig is a response to propaganda news and age in the PR forum before I was banned 8ish years ago, folks don't really want reality that want to hear things that valitade their opinions.

nope. Mean and median are different statistical concepts, not always the same

Boy, you're really on my ass today.

You're correct, but I wasn't really taking time to think about it, so I used the word "roughly." Whatever. It's beside the point.

No one claimed (or even implied) that they are equivalent.

He didn't say 'mean', he said '50th percentile', which is the value which half of values are below and half above, which is also median.
