I use the VO wheel stabilizer on my 80s MTB set up in touring mode, it works perfectly for stopping the bars/levers from mangling the TT.

I've used the product Velo Orange sells. It's okay-ish, but doesn't really help if you have a load on the front end, or are trying to put a load (panniers especially, but also securing a load to the deck of a rack as well) on the front end. I considered replacing the spring with a lot stronger one, but instead have just reverted to using a strap the secure the front wheel to the downtube.

But, it's big, ugly, and I'm not a fan of the protrusion sticking up like that though.

I'm going to give the VO option a try on a bike and see how it goes. Hebie also makes something similar, which I would try if they were available in Canada (seems to be mainly a Euro presence).

For when I'm off the bike or working on a bike and want the front wheel to stay parallel to the rest of the bike I use an old toe-strap through the front wheel and around the downtube.

I do the same thing with string/paracord/bungee - even when working on bike on workstand. It's a simple way to park a leaning, loaded bike to help prevent falling over. Even simpler, lay bike on ground in area protected from motor vehicle traffic (if it's clean/dry), then wind can't blow it over. Also, locking bike to a rack/sign/fence usually obviates the need for a special headset, kickstand or any other device. In a pinch, a U lock is a capable stealth weapon for self defense.

Update:
I have been using the V.O. damper for a few years now. It's ok, but has barely enough tension to correct the front end even though unloaded and with the front end lifted up. This includes significantly tensioning the adjustment knob for greater tension. I would like to see V.O. offer this product in different native spring stiffnesses. Right now, the bars flop around far too easily. I think I might build my own, or remove the stock spring and drop a stronger one in there.
