i wanted something to mount my varia as high as possible behind the saddle, not on the seat post, not hanging down any further than necessary. version 1.0 is working pretty well! print quality isn't what one would get from shapeways, nor is my quick spray paint job, but once i've got it perfected i'll order a nice black one professionally printed.

Looks good, mschwett! Nice to see other folks' designs in this thread too.

Sure is, while I created this thread mainly for the stuff I was doing, I love seeing how others are innovating and create bespoke solutions for things they are encountering! And I try to help where I can.

Speaking of which, here is a mount for the Giant TL200. I don't see much Giant accessories here on the Eastern half of the US, but they appear very popular in the Asian and Australian markets.

i decided i wanted to get my phone mounted lower on my bars, but without the phone being completely "out front" the way a bike computer often is. the phone is just a little too big in the long axis for that. this new version of the roval alpinist / quad lock adapter is about as low as the stack can get, i think. the clunkiness as always is the large size of the quad lock hardware itself, but once the phone is on, it's pretty sleek. rock solid, a couple long rides on bad pavement and it's not going anywhere. i wouldn't do it, but you could definitely pick the bike up from it.

finishing is a little rough on this prototype, i'll probably send out to have a nicer one printed professionally.

Have been really busy with life, but I did just complete a direct to post mount adapter for the Garmin RCT715 and the Trek Madone! Here are a couple of images that I received permission to post

https://www.shapeways.com/product/6X2SB52AV

No clunky o-rings, no rubber spacers, just a solid direct to post mount.

Note: Personally I would not run the Garmin camera upside down as it does not have auto-orientation, but it still fits.

I've made a couple small items. A quarter tern mount for my Garmin eTrex, most of the ones out there tend to twist around the mounting screw so I made mine clamp around the humps on the battery cover.
https://www.thingiverse.com/thing:6036724

Other one is a gopro mount for my Camelbak, this way I don't have to wear a chest harness or anything additional. My mount replaces the sternum strap clip on one side.

Searching for a mount similar to this https://www.shapeways.com/product/GS...ack-dual-mount
but instead of attaching to a rack, it has a clip that can be put on the end of a saddle bag!
I did a search on Shapeways for "varia/cygolite dual mount" but there was 1059 pages and I didn't have the patience to go through each one! If somebody has a better search term to use, that would be helpful too.

I also tried "varia/cygolite dual mount seat bag" but that got me 1062 pages!
(I can't use the cygolite's seat stay mount because of the cable to my brake.)

Actually, would the rear rack version work if I just used zip ties around it and the saddle bags blinky strap? (I'm asking in case anybody has tried it!)

Thank you.
(Very interesting thread).

Cycleaware Reflex mirror helmet mount

My SO got me a new Bontrager helmet for Christmas. Went looking for a new Cycleaware Reflex to stick on it...and that mirror seems to have ceased to be a thing. I bought one about this time two years back. Guess I should have bought two.

I can prise one off an older helmet and try to afix it to the new guy. Hard to say how well and cleanly the removal will go. But the mirror and arm snap on to the helmet mount, so it occured to me that I could easily design and print the helmet mount piece, and move the mirror and arm along as helmets die or age out.

Did a quick look for an existing 3D model and found one: https://www.youmagine.com/designs/mo...-helmet-mirror

Have downloaded the SCAD file and STL, will print up in the next few days and see how it looks. Anyway, thought this might be useful to someone else.

I tried to print it but the model is smaller compared to the cover from the original holder. Is it possible that the grips on the old Wahoo models used to be a little different in size?

Wahoo? This is the base for a CycleAware Reflex mirror. Fits mine just fine.

That said, as designed, it only makes contact with the helmet at a tangent point...helmet is curved, of course. So I thinned it down a little, designed and printed a mating piece that's flat on one side, curved on the other, glued them together. Will stick that on my Botrager WaveCel in the next day or so, but expect it to be solid.

Good to see this thread is still alive and well. It was a very rough year for me in 2023, I am hoping 2024 is better.

Everyone here, keep the rubber side down!

WheresWaldo any chance you have any mounts for a 31.8 bar for a BlipBox or any interest in making one?

Haven't been here in a while, having health issues and going in for open heart surgery on the 21st (next week). I will not be able to do any new designs for a bit, but hope to start back up by the beginning of summer. I hope you guys here come up with some incredible designs for your own solutions and I want to see them all when I get back.
