Those dang papparazzi!

Don't you just hate guys who ride with a camera around their neck all the time? Er, wait... never mind.

I saw them in action here once. It was extremely obnoxious and disruptive. Jennifer Aniston (and some others) walked into the restaurant where my wife and I were eating. There was a mob of paparazzi, and they moved very fast and loudly. They stood on all four corners of the intersection where the restaurant was. Aniston had to drape her hair over her face. They waited outside the whole time. Then crowds of fans gathered around, spreading rumors about which celebrity was inside.

Love riding my Cannondale Slate and Bridgestone XO-1. Both bikes are fun and a smile on my face.
However, I race a Ritchey (for CX)and Lynsey (for road racing) to stay competitive.

Nice XO, getting the baby treatment. I was at a citywide garage sale and a lady had an identical xo1 sitting in her driveway. It wasn't for sale, but she said she enjoyed all the attention it was getting.

Thank you for the kind words. Yes. I keep my baby clean but make no mistake - I ride this throughout my local canyons here in San Diego. In fact, I have another wheelset (sweet 26"/30mm Campy MTN rims) with 26"/1.25 slicks for the road and I've used them maybe once in the past year. Though my twitchy-nervous CX bikes are way faster, the XO-1 holds steady and allows me to enjoy the scenery. Yup - I go through my road and CX bikes quite frequently. 2 race seasons and it's trade-in time, but the XO-1 has never lost favor with me. We're growing old, and older, together.

BTW - Dangling an XO-1 during a citywide garage sale is down right cruel.

Welcome aboard,

No pics or URLs till 10 posts, go around and say Hi or comment to get there then you may still have to use the image function in the post section.

Hello,
I always check this thread because I am interested in who the members are and finally decided to post a picture...this is one of me and my daughter at one of the many stops along the beach in Santa Monica.
Occasionally we both ride along the route near the ocean side on the paved path on the beach on our way to the north to Topanga or to the south towards the other beach cities.
Best, Ben

It was too late or early to catch any sets so we were just enjoying the ride that day.

I'm the one on the left (brand-whoring Specialized, apparently). This is on one of our weekly women's group rides. I ended up leading this group all last summer, which was an amazing rewarding privilege.

There. An actual vintage bike. Annual spring ride through Yellowstone when the roads are closed to cars.

Both are gorgeous. Mine is currently equipped with a random assortment of Campagnolo. When I put it together, parts and pieces were hard to find around here, and I wasn't quite willing to drop the e-Bay cash. Somehow, I've since seen an influx of Campi, and some bits may be shifted about. And believe it or not, my Mens Sana was donated to the local co-op where I volunteer. It never saw the sales floor.
