Road Cycling “It is by riding a bicycle that you learn the contours of a country best, since you have to sweat up the hills and coast down them. Thus you remember them as they actually are, while in a motor car only a high hill impresses you, and you have no such accurate remembrance of country you have driven through as you gain by riding a bicycle.” -- Ernest Hemingway

Lawn mowing activity completed. Lunch activity painfully behind schedule. As my dad would say, my big ones are eating my little ones.

Our usual first frost is around October 15 but it won’t happen this year. In fact, we’ve been extending our record for most days in a row of low temps over 60° In September/October.

Okay, it's JUST BARELY possible I have too many bikes.

I realized that it's time for me to decide what bikes I'm going to ride in the next week, and in what order. Then I need to make them accessible by putting the ones I plan to ride closest to the front.

I used to do the same thing with watches, once I got past a couple dozen, or I'd spend fruitless minutes every morning pondering which one to wear.
