Gravel with a Tandem
This thread kinda belongs in two forums (Gravel & Tandem) ... But I put it here.
I've ridden more gravel miles than I can count, but yesterday was a leap into the unknown!
We got our Co Motion Java at the end of August, and spent a few weeks making adjustments ... at the start line of The Filthy 50, we'd logged less than 100 miles on this bike (or any real tandem).
We did a lot of learning along the roads around of Lanesboro and loved the sights of this Amish community in Southern Minnesota. We enjoyed great weather with clear skies and temps in the 70s (very warm of Oct in MN), we even got strong tailwinds for the last few miles.
Here's our Java at the finish line taproom.

Weather: Low of 29F / High of 35F with W wind at ~26mph. Snowed during the middle of the ride.Date: Saturday, October 12th, 2019
2019 conditions were pretty brutal.
neat fade on the tandem.

2019 was harsh!
2018 was worse ... IMHO ... cold and sleet right from the start
2021 conditions were like a whole different universe from '18 & '19!
