Great bike, note, the lug nuts are Whitworth standard. So, I ordered some 17/32 sockets from Home Depot. Also on the forums is the "For the love of English 3 speeds..." threads.

Have fun, they ride great.

I've done a few mods now, wider Riser handlebars, new grips, bell & bottle holder.
Have ordered a pair of Kootu folding pedals and on the lookout for a nice set of 20" wheels.

We stayed in Chincoteague this week, I cycled to Assateague a couple days. Nice and flat for this single speed. Picture is of the Pony Lookout. Actually ponies in the background.

The trail said no bikes, but it is off season and early morning.

Brompton by a Euphorbia Candelabra succulent tree on the Nyamyumba peninsula on Lake Kivu, Rwanda, in the suburbs of Gisenyi. Along the shore in the background runs the Congo-Nile cycling and hiking trail. The bay enclosed by the peninsula houses a harbor for fishing boats that by this time of the day have mostly left for a night fishing in the Lake Kivu (tilapia and sambaza). Lake Kivu belongs to the African Great Lakes formed by tectonic plates moving apart, separates Rwanda from D.R. Congo and has the maximal depth of nearly 0.5km. Gisenyi-Goma border crossing is the busiest in Africa, with 55k people crossing every day in normal times, according to a border official we chatted with.

Stupid me decided to do an 200km brevet on my Brompton. Just installed some bar ends, normal flat pedals, and done. Will never do it again

a 200km brevet with a brompton. The bar ends and flat pedals actually helped a lot.

How well do those mudguards work in the rain, or on wet roads? Where did you get them? TIA

Oh, these are fantastic! You can find them on Amazon here or here, but I also got a few other pairs in different colors for my earlier folders from multiple sources on Aliexpress - here's one source that sells two styles. I got the plain, wider one on this Hemingway to cover the 2.00" Big Apples, and the slightly narrower one with the notches I got on my Mu; goes nicely with the 1.6" Marathon Supreme's tread pattern:

They seem to work quite well for what they are; I have them on mostly for looks. they're quick release, too; all you have to do is turn the knob and off they come. For $20 delivered to my door, I can't complain.

If you can find them in the style and/or color you want, make sure to get the ones with the galvanized steel mounting brackets (they look yellowish with notches pressed into the bends for added strength.) Try to avoid the ones with the black painted pressed sheet metal brackets.

Felt like taking out the Mu for some sporty, agile fun as the Formula One mood dawns on the whole town this morning. Eastbound on Hiraa st. about a hundred feet west of where it intersection with Makaeunah, before turning back westbound.
