Addiction 2022.3

Notices
Road Cycling “It is by riding a bicycle that you learn the contours of a country best, since you have to sweat up the hills and coast down them. Thus you remember them as they actually are, while in a motor car only a high hill impresses you, and you have no such accurate remembrance of country you have driven through as you gain by riding a bicycle.” -- Ernest Hemingway

Guilty. I did hit 48 mph on a downhill near my house this morning. Strava says only 47.4 but what do they know?

Nice shoes. How many miles do you get out of a set of cleats? I use covers off the bike and I still wear them out pretty darn fast like every 1500-2000 miles.

Been wanting a black pair with double Boas, and these were about half off. Couldn’t pass that up.

I get about the same wear, but frequently change them earlier if they start getting hard to release.

I'm still using Look Delta pedals. The genuine Look cleats last a long time but they squeak and squawk when I'm climbing. I have a near new set of pedals and just bought new cleats and they still make way too much noise. They're quiet if I spray them with Pledge, at least for a while.

I've noticed cleats are not what they once were. They wear out fast now days. I used to get 2 seasons from a set of cleats. Now it 2 pairs to season.
EDIT, I use Shimano sl

I prefer 100 feet/mile but one must compromise sometimes.

I use Look Keos and get about 5000 miles from my right cleat and 10000 miles from the left. Right wears faster presumably because that’s my unclip side.
