Road Cycling “It is by riding a bicycle that you learn the contours of a country best, since you have to sweat up the hills and coast down them. Thus you remember them as they actually are, while in a motor car only a high hill impresses you, and you have no such accurate remembrance of country you have driven through as you gain by riding a bicycle.” -- Ernest Hemingway

It means he is a Moderator of Bike Forums.

You see LAJ is listed as a moderator, along with Tranisnorter and a few others. BillyD has three purples as he is an administrator.

Yes, three rides this past weekend. Love it! Over my thought of getting another bike. Unless I break it, I'm hanging on to this bike for a long time. Can't even really think of anything else to replace/upgrade!

Time to start personalizing my other bike now.

One ride with the new kicks as well. They are really nice.

One of the old neighbors in the neighborhood is in town visiting from Washington state. They moved away before we moved in, but I got to meet him before I started this trip. Turns out he cycles, and he rides a 58. I told him I have spare shoes and a helmet if he wanted to ride. He is stoked, gunna let him ride the madone. His legs look a little shorter than mine so I might have to adjust the seat height. The cervelo I don’t want to touch, it took me forever to get it from slipping. He races a domane back in Washington.

No doubt. Luckily, that would not happen to a Saturn. Because one word. Just one word: Plastic!

I had that kind of experience with the Canyon. Part of my brain was thinking, "Why do I need THIS bike if I have the Litespeed?", and between the *click* in the seatpost and the strange phenomenon where when I don't ride it for a month or so, something happens to the brake pad/disks that makes them initially poor stopping and hooty and has to be burned off, I was distinctly falling out of love with it. But that all went away with a few miles and by the end of the ride I was back to loving it again. Not sure where I'm going to make cuts to reduce the lineup when I retire. Can't move 10 bikes Back East! (Or can I?)

Painting again In my wing this time. It has been the same drab concrete grey these past 7.5 years, and likely would have remained that way. But the wife did some fancying up in the entryway and, with paint left over, I took the cue.

Up on a steep ladder in a tight corner. I didn't cotton descending and having to re-ascend. The ladder was so steep that the top end came off the wall as I stepped on the bottom rungs, paint can in hand. I'm happily painting away and the brush leaps out of my hand. With my lightning quick reflexes, I caught it. By the bristles. It would have made a right dandy mess had it fallen.
