You might think fifty each, with wine you bought for twenty per bottle.
Somewhere in between?

P.S. I bought those exact rims (in better shape) for $25/pair about fifteen years ago on eBay.
The dude shipped them in a giant plastic garbage bag via USPS! Somehow they did not get dented!

...that's a pretty accurate statement where I live. If you actually have some tubular rimmed wheels and tyres, it is handy to have some spare rims to store your spare tyres on, while awaiting their turn in service. I find that when I construct wheels, I'm going in the direction of replacing a tubular rim set with a modern box section rim, on the same hubs.

This article was very interesting. I used to tell people who think "nobody" uses tubular tires that all they need to do is check out the TdF to see that is just isn't so. Well apparently it is heading that way according the following article.

I have no bikes currently which rely on tubulars. I have purchased a couple of vintage bikes over the years which had tubular rims and I swapped them out for more modern box-section rims.

Simply don't want to deal with tubulars. Some don't mind, and I say "keep on keepin' on!"

I think I made a mistake here. I made the mistake of thinking that the subsection of the forum was where people would ask questions on a dollar amount of an item was worth.

So far I have not received that response.

Like anything, condition is important. These look shelf-worn, but they're rims. Either they've never been built and ridden before, or they were cleaned really well.

The market will not bear a high price for these admittedly decent rims until built up into wheels. I think for old unbuilt shelf-worn tub rims like this I'd try to get them for $25 each or less.

Yes you did, J_Chickles said a couple of $10.00 bottles of wine. If I was selling those rims, $20.00 for the pair would make me happy.

You yourself said that the shop owner indicated nobody wants them. To me that equates to a value of zero dollars.

I would say about $30-50 each while tubiies theses are really nice double eyelet Wobler Supers about the best ones you can get for a vintage bike If you want to run Tubulars / Sew ups.

Would have to see photos of the brake tracks to know for sure of never used. No glue remnants on the mounting surfaces seem to suggest that though.

Pretty sure these just have NOS shop ware should polish out clean up nicely if done before there laced up.
