Brazing lugs on a new fork.

Hello,

This is my first posting since before covid. Here goes...

I have a brand new, never assembled single speed bicycle from India. I bought it from the manufacturer in 2016.
I will build up a rear wheel with an old Sturmey-Archer 3-speed hub (I have all necessary parts. In addition, I want to use a steel front rack. The rack attaches to the fork with steel lugs/studs, thus it needs a stud on each fork "leg/arm". Any issues with brazing the lugs/studs on the sc steel fork? I would have a custom bike-builder do the job.

Just wondering. Thanks.

Generally no, most forks sold today have substantial enough blades to handle a properly (the pro builder enters here) brazed on mount. If the fork has been chromed the plating will need to be removed in the spot where the mount is added.
However this is best answered by the person doing the work (again that pro builder aspect). If that person can't give a solid reason up or down they would not be who I would want to trust my face with
