Ride Across Portugal Challenge
We just finished the Ride Across Portugal cycling challenge. It’s an absolutely fantastic event. 480 miles, 37000 feet of climbing over 6 days. Ride Across Portugal | Official Website
The scenery is great, wonderful roads, very low traffic, good food, very nice hotels, and amazing support. ( actually more support personnel than riders.
Not really a tandem event. (We were the first tandem team to do RAP. However, the RAP people were very welcoming and supportive of the tandem.). The climbing on the first 3 days were a challenge for us, particularly the 2 HC climbs on day 2. After the the days in the North with actual mountains, the smaller climbs, and rolling terrain in the South and middle of the country were a lot of fun on the tandem.

The photos are courtesy of the Ride Across Portugal. They had a full video/photography crew following the ride . The RAP videos, which are on Facebook are the most amazing bike videography I’ve ever seen for an amateur event.
