For decades I have planned to bike to a dentist appointment before work. Today was that day. My new dentist is a mile from my new office...but it's a little riskier to lock a bike outside in that neighborhood. I now own a folding bike and a Rhinowalk bike bag. So I brought the bike in with me!

Good for you! I did that too when I had to have a crown put back on.

Folded the Broomie outside, carried it in an sat in the waiting room. When it was my turn I carried it into the room and stuck it in a corner. Some questions about it, favorable remarks then down to business.

That's a little different, as I wouldn't plan more than a year, even maybe not that long. I went to a new barber yesterday with my Kwiggle without really planning it, although that's easier than any doctor appointment, I would think.

Here in Tokyo I could have left the bike, bags, and my cell phone outside, and found them still there after a long treatment. I always take myself or my kids to the dentist by bicycle, car parking here is scarce, and expensive when you can find it.

Being able ta put your bike in a bag would certainly make it easier when taking it into the pawn shop ta pay your dental bill... Ha

My dentist's office is about 20 miles away, and the roads are mostly highway, so I wish I had the option to bike ride there.

Well, my old dentist was 5 miles from the house in the opposite direction from my office and up a huge hill. Then the ride from dentist to office would have been 14 miles, but mostly down-hill. Test rides gave me an average speed of almost 15 mph but either the weather, work obligations or life seemed to get in the way. And because of the blocks-long hill with a couple hundred foot climb I would have had to have arrived very early to cool off and not be a hot sweaty mess. But the ride to work would have been almost a thousand feet downhill (Woo-hoo!), and I would have felt safe locking the bike up there.

But this new location and ride was so easy I just so excited to do it.

I ride my folder to the dentist's office every day... it's *my* office! I get my dental work done here too... by a colleague, not me.
My commute is 50 miles each way (not sustainable by bike alone), but the folding bike accounts for about 8 miles a day, with the rest being our local heavy rail (METRA). I've been doing this year-round in Chicago for over 20 years.

FWIW, I generally will just let me patient leave their bike in my waiting room.
We have a mix of folders and nonfolders.

Good observation! What you may not have noticed is that the surveyor is modified for endodontic study purposes... the yellow piece serves to hold a root canal file.

I've honestly never seen this before.
My endodontist (JJJ on dentaltown) uses an X-stab sometimes for guided endo.

It's not for clinical work. I was using it to check calibration of electronic apex locators in extracted teeth.
We're doing some guided procedures in my department. We also have "Gentle Wave" and two kinds of laser devices.

I usually ride my bike to the dentist, but it is in a low crime rate neighborhood, no concerns about leaving it locked outside to the rack.

That said, I usually use my errand bike for that, a bike that I paid $5 USD for over a decade ago at a garage sale, it took two days of work and about $50 to turn it into a good reliable ridable bike. But it is so rusty that most thieves in my community would be embarrassed to steal it.
