Thule Ridealong compatibility

I'm trying to install the Thule RideAlong seat on my bike and ran into an issue: the instructions seem to say that the bottom of the seat needs at least 80mm clearance over the rear tire, but with the seat installed as high as possible on my bike, I only have 50-60mm of clearance. It looks like plenty of space but I don't want to install unsafely.

I'm guessing I'm out of luck here, but hoping that someone familiar with this seat can glance and confirm whether it's compatible with my bike or not. Unfortunately I'm a new member so can't post pics.
