Seeking Info On Elevated Chainstay Bike
The seller describes the bike as "Revolution Lightweight Mountain Bike".
I guess a 90's vintage? I can make out thumb shifters and a quill stem. I asked for pics of the drive side and a component list.
In the meantime, Does anyone have any info on this bike? Revolution brand or model?

I'm curious if this is what you have.
You might contact them and ask.
In the late '90s some of our mechanics got into cobbling together 'hack' bikes. A hack bike would typically start with a discarded mountain bike frame and wheels.
I'm curious if this is what you have.
You might contact them and ask.

A couple more pics the seller sent me. Still waiting on hand controls and the right side pic.
I don't think the seller knows much about the bike

I figure it's a longshot due to the fact a lot of people working in bike shops today weren't born in the 90's.

I received another possible lead.
On another MTB forum, someone seemed to recall the brand, "this Revolution frame was made by the people at the Bike Beat bike shop in So. Cal"., "frame is from around 1988 and later. the company started making Chumba bikes."
I even had time to drive over to look at the bike yet..lol
I just don't want to buy some strange junk frame material bike so, I am looking for as much info as possible before I spend the time, and gas, to drive there.

So, sent off an email to Chumba and they replied. It wasn't them.
The investigation continues..........

I seem to recall XC Pro was Suntour's flagship MTB group in the late 1980s / early 1990s, so this was likely a high-end bike. GH code on the chainrings = August 1990 manufacturing date. Those XC Pro thumbies generally shift very nicely.

It does look similar to some Nishiki America's late 80's early 90's stuff what seems a bit off is the rear drops look simple ruff for a bike with this level components. The fork does look to be Tange prestige strait fork late 80's which is good this can likely be verified by the markings on the tube of the fork if you pull it. Not much help on ID since nearly every top end MTB around this time had tange prestige forks. Not sure if this helps but the Nitto/Richey force stem and flutted sr seat post are not likely original to the bike. The shifter's are 90 or or so 7speed/frictiion accushift. All in in all a lot of good to great components on so so mystery frame.

I think the case is solved. From a member on another forum, Look at those drop outs...
"Your Bike is a beautiful Texas made Ellison E-Stay of 6061 Aluminium. It was made for a bike shop with different frame angles and called Revolution. I am looking for the article in my MBA Magazine. "
