Road Cycling “It is by riding a bicycle that you learn the contours of a country best, since you have to sweat up the hills and coast down them. Thus you remember them as they actually are, while in a motor car only a high hill impresses you, and you have no such accurate remembrance of country you have driven through as you gain by riding a bicycle.” -- Ernest Hemingway

For a second there, I thought that that had come from my zip code.

But it's actually across the river, in the same area as the lumber yard that I go to. People are... weird.

But to be honest, I've been hesitating to add more lights to my own modest display because so far I'm the only one on the block with lights. I'd hate to appear extravagant, but yet what does my display of spirit have to do with anybody else? Enjoy it and keep moving or cover your eyes when you pass by.

That's nuts. I am Jewish and have ZERO problem with folks putting up whatever decorations they want.

Doesn't surprise me that much, since my nephew met his Brazilian bride there. Having grown up in a completely homogeneous area, I find living in a really diverse area is much better, if only for the variety of restaurants!

Defined broadly, yes - assuming that "DFW" means "Dallas-Fort Worth" and not "Dillsburg/Fairplay/Wenksville".

I define neighbourhood as a handful of proximate streets, or fewer.

Yes, but Mojo and I were talking about neighborhoods, not neighbourhoods. Perhaps they define them differently in the British Commonwealth?

Ugly? No doubt.

Well to do? I drove a 1998 Ranger for a very long time.... Mrs. LAJ at least had a 99. No electrical Porsche's here.

Dusty? Bring it on.
