Road Cycling “It is by riding a bicycle that you learn the contours of a country best, since you have to sweat up the hills and coast down them. Thus you remember them as they actually are, while in a motor car only a high hill impresses you, and you have no such accurate remembrance of country you have driven through as you gain by riding a bicycle.” -- Ernest Hemingway

Based on noises, I'm pretty sure there's something wrong with the rear wheel hub. Additionally, there really seemed to be something interfering with power transfer. I know I'm not strong, but come on--14 mph on my relatively flat route?

Did 60 mile today with 10 others. Here, we are taking a bathroom break on the MUP before we go and do a loop on the hill in the background. I'm sitting on the wall behind my bike.

My second coastal ride in two weekends. I don't like the south coast so much because of the crowding and the northern coast rides involve too much driving. These two rides turned out very well, though. Here is a fountain with Catalina Island in the distance.

The seatstays look like Ritchey's 'fastback' seatstay attachment.

My first thought also. Even normally good people can let bitterness and hatred take over thier lives. If nothing else our current political climate proves that. Its not an excuse but only a rational.
sorry you and your missus had to go through that.

5 foot zero. She has put up with a lot over the course of 14 years.

28 degrees this morning. I’m over winter. Good news I waited to go to the bathroom before I got dressed.

Thanks for the words of support/wisdom about yesterday's unpleasant interaction with the angry geezer.

I am going to chalk it up to either idiocy or dementia, and let it go.

Heh. Back in 2008 I did Velo Quebe's Le Grande Tour in PQ. PQ often feels very European. The very first day some guys simply stopped by the side of the road turned their back and peed despite there being woods they could have walked into. A small group of women came riding by and cheered them on. I could not bring myself to do it in the open. Now, when I ride in very rural places, I sometimes don't even put the bike down.

Bryn Coed preserve. You have ridden by it, it's just south of St Matthews Rd in Kimberton (between Kimberton and Birchrunville).
