The $2600 tag on this bonkers 20 year old downhill MTB is not why I posted... it's the ad copy, and the commuting kit

https://sacramento.craigslist.org/bi...272313239.html

One of the best looking bike out there. This bike may win a beauty contest but not in weight contest. This is purely a downhill bike and it's very heavy.

Response to the wacky ad for a copper bike:
Funny but you should go to a local pro sewing shop.
I went in my local one and asked for a good machine and was quoted $10,000 CDN.
My reply was that I wouldn’t spend that on a bicycle let alone a seldom used sewing machine.

Amazing that in that description, there may be 7 misspellings and not be even one "true" statement. Especially like the quoted weights. Not for beginners. And very fast.

At least he's consistent by spelling it that way in his description also. Makes you wonder when he somehow got the model right. Must be that flick stand throwing them off.

I'm always impressed with how talented people are. I mean, this seller included a couple impressionistic paintings of his bike.

That is a painting right?

Yup, that's one of my favorite games. Sometimes bikes magically acquire a suspension setup, sometimes models become manufacturers, or vice-versa, and almost nobody knows what their bike is actually made of!

Let's not forget the price on that Scott Tinley Tri-lite is about 2x market 😒.

If it were titanium though, $550 is a bargain price!

It isn't in bad shape though. Would you approach the seller with all the information needed to appropriately price the bike, offer $180 to start, and see where it goes? (It's my size, so I'm thinking keeper, not to flip).

At least they pointed out that the frame is used...who would have thunk it. Non-Proft, for the buyer.
I wonder if they sell at these prices and if so I need to get my "USED" stuff on the bay...I've never made a profit.
Best, Ben
