Road Cycling “It is by riding a bicycle that you learn the contours of a country best, since you have to sweat up the hills and coast down them. Thus you remember them as they actually are, while in a motor car only a high hill impresses you, and you have no such accurate remembrance of country you have driven through as you gain by riding a bicycle.” -- Ernest Hemingway

I'd like to go for an easy spin for a couple hours but winds are predicted @45mph where the flat bike path is and 35mph at home.

Scattered thunderstorms. To ride or not to ride? Riding and there would surely be rain. Not riding it would surely be fair weather.

Another good ride in. I had a decent week of riding, and although I am on top of the leaderboard for altitude, I am barely on the mileage podium and expect to get kicked off.

Phooey. Bunch of guys paid for a race and wanted to do a group ride. Of course, they had no issue chasing me down when I went on a flyer, then they commenced to trading recipes again. 5th-6th. Something like that. Doing a bunch sprint on a straight downhill road is what nightmares are made of.

The mighty Pirates took 3 out of 4 against the Cubs in Chicago. That 3 touchdown win on Saturday for the Cubbies was cold comfort.

Bucs > Cubs
