Fiamme Montreal. I love the lines. Very elegant. 10.79 including shipping and tax from a great EBay seller who honored the .99 bid.

The lines are a bit different as it approaches the bar clamp, but definitely in the same category.

The Montreal does have gorgeous lines and the price certainly can’t be beat. And the polishing is simply amazing.

That's how that particular stem is designed. The knurled clamp is internal (and therefore not visible) and pushes the bar forward against the front of the stem. There is no movement or creaking.

I think Neal is saying that the bar diameter might be a bit small for that stem? Some Cinelli was 26.0, some 26.4. Some bars 25.4, some 26.0 and some 26.4

This is one reason as an ebay seller I just go with a set buy it now price. My last "auction" was a top of the line leather coat, new with tag. Started at 99 cents. Sold for 99 cents. I even lost money on the shipping too. Lesson learned.

I lost out on cheap opening bids too. I started a museum piece Schwinn Predator "Blue Max" (chrome frameset with blue ano'd Sugino 3pc and hubs) about a decade ago for $9.99. It only got one bid early, but I thought for sure it would get a last minute snipe war. Nope, should have parted it for at least $500.

No, the bar is the correct size for the stem. Anything larger will not fit. Anything smaller will slip. The bar and stem are both designed for 26.0mm.

Two more… one on my QA and a highly polished one on my Tesch but it’s since been replaced.

And how is that stem tightened in the steerer? Being Shimano, I suspect it might be something like "from the bottom, with a special tool". Also, I don't think I could ride a bike if I had to look at a Shimano logo the whole time.

OK, I looked up the manual on this (never seen a stem that needed a manual) and see that the elbow cap is just a cap. But a cheater bar is required to adjust either the handlebar clamp or the stem cone:

In addition to the cheater, I also have a T wrench. Neither is a specialized tool.
The Montreal is wonderfully finished; The Dura Ace simply matches the rest of the 7400 group.
