Cape Cod Rail Trail autumn ride #12
One of the usual suspects have (gently) chided me about not posting this yet.
It's on! Oct 9 (Sunday) at the Dennis trailhead (old exit 9A off Rt 6. I can't remember the new exit numbers).
C&V themed but all are welcome. Always a good time despite rain, headwinds, low temps, and other things that make us love riding.

I know of another couple that live in Dennis that would also enjoy riding but they were curious as to what the route may be. Can you share what route and distance you are considering?

Dennis to South Wellfleet and back, with a possible side trip to LeCounts Hollow. Total under 50 miles, closer to 46 I think.

FWIW, Sharon and I are currently camping and hiking in Maine. We return home on Friday so that our band can play a show Saturday afternoon. Then on Sunday we will (attempt to) ride the CCRT. It's a busy time of year! I expect we will be slower as the miles accumulate. No one will get dropped, except maybe us!
Anyone who wants to do just part of the ride can meet the bunch in Orleans, which is around mile 10 IIRC. Or ride that far from Dennis and either turn around or wait for everyone else to come by on the return. The Chocolate Sparrow in Orleans has great, um, coffee. :-)

We did ride the CCRT on Sunday! It was awesome! Great weather, cool and dry, plenty of sun when required, not too windy. Traffic on the trail was light and drivers at the road crossings were incredibly courteous. In other words, it was awesome. The turnout was bigger than has been the norm too. No one had a flat tire or mechanical issue which required us to stop. In other words, it was awesome!
Here we were at the start. I will not attempt to list the names of everyone in this pic. The attendees (not in order of this pic) were top506, spiker, Frog, ADGuy, Flying G (Brian?) and spouse, their friends from California, my sweetie Sharon and myself. Later were joined by Ganny, a friend of Top's daughter and who has ridden with us before.
Most of the bikes were either classic or vintage or both. As usual Frog rode the coolest and oldest bike, a Columbia from 1917 rebuilt with modern components. Which is to say the frame was 105 years old. (The oldest of his bikes which I remember was something like 1935 though I may misremember.)
Some of the others:
spiker's Lotus
ADGuy's Pinarello (if I remember right)
A nice Bruce Gordon
Two Trek's and a Cannondale (Don't ask me who rode what...)
Top's lovely PX10
