You'll only be able to get a 1 1/4" receiver for a small car. The rack needs to be the same.
etrailer.com also sells an adapter that converts a 1 1/4 in receiver to a 2 in receiver, as required by most hitch mounted bike racks.
In any case, as many have stated before me, etrailer.com is the answer to the OP’s original post.

I know of far more people who have run roof-mounted bikes into garages, low branches, etc than had their bikes damaged from being rear ended.

+2

In my naivety, I had always hoped the other drivers would keep a safe distance behind a car loaded with bikes on the back So many pointy and sharp things sticking out! But then I remembered the other other drivers are just as likely busy reading on their phones..... So it's probably a wash.

You could always look under your vehicle for the pre-drilled mounting holes. They will likely be taped over with a foil or bituminous underlayment type of tape.

And some hitches are easier to mount than others. For my 2021 WRX, I bought one from E-trailer that required no drilling, just the removal of some rubber plugs which hid some existing holes. But there was another cheaper hitch I looked at which required drilling into the underside of the car..... Something I was trying to avoid having to do.

Both hitches required removal of the mufflers, which on that car wasn't difficult.

I should mention that the E-trailer hitch weighs about a hundred pounds, or at least that is what it feels like. I installed it by myself with help from some a floor jack and some wood cribbing. It was a real workout!

Since the OP made several posts that people are responding badly to, I'm closing this thread. If someone wants to start a thread about bike racks and hitches, it seems like a lot of people are interested.
