Windsor Professional Frame and Fork. Free. ST 56cm CTT. TT 54.5 CTC

Free. Local pick up only.

This was a repaint I did and a complete parts bin build. I knew it was going to be on the small side for me, but I wanted to refurb it. I'd call it a 5 footer. It's now completely stripped.

I have a rebuild thread on it with a lot of pictures, just putting a couple here. Note: A couple of spots where the Glamour Clear is compressed from the clamp on components. I've smoothed it out some but it is still noticeable. Another clamp on shifter would hide it well.

Pictures coming.

Hi Mike,
Not my size putting a price on it might be helpful.....did iI miss it?

Hi Ben

thanks I was happily how it turned out. Just too small. The I picked up a paramount that fits. So the parts were needed.

price was in the title. Free. I also edited the text.

REALLY????......What a generous offer.....NOW, I really wish it was my size.....surprised its still in your possession, I know BF members are frugal but I guess some want you to deliver it to them.
Best, Ben

There may be hope, If a youngster, you may "grow" into it...if older, perhaps it is a "shrink" to fit.....either way very nice of you to offer it.

I’m more on the shrinking side, but I’d have to shrink 2-3 inches for this to fit. The guy I got it from gave it to me. I have my labor and the cost of paint and stickers into it. But I consider that my tuition cost in using this a project to become better at painting.

Beautiful work re-doing it and exceptionally generous too.

May the good karma find its way back to you as well

What color paint is that? Is it rattle cN or professional air brush type paint?

Well done on the paint and the generous offer,

What a nicely done restoration! Deserves another vintage build-up and an appreciative, appropriately-sized new owner. Here's hoping (it's too small for me)

First pass was a custom mix color. It didn’t cover well so I tried Rustoleum. It does have a glamour 2 part clear.

WHY ARE YOU DOING THIS? I’m local and it’s my size. Ugh, really thinking this one over… Seriously, though, very kind of you to offer this.

EDIT:As much as I would love this pretty frame, my hands are full with projects right now, and there’s no way I can take this on. Congrats in advance to the new owner!

I am sorry to see you part ways with this one, but sometimes it just isn’t right. Your kindness is going to put someone on a very nice bike. You have done the hard work on this frame and it will be a score for a lucky “right sized” rider. Pedal on….

You're a good man @SwimmerMike!
These are nice riding bikes, and this one is nice looking too!
Someone who takes advantage of this very generous offer is going to be quite happy they did.

I thought it was funny. I researched orange colors, hand picked a color. Then when I was having poor coverage, I grabbed a can of Rustoleum Orange from Home Depot, sprayed a sample, and really liked it.

Boy I wish I was in your neck of the woods! I had a cheaper (Carrera) Windsor in the 70s, also orange (probably not that bright, but who cares!?). It was the one and only complete new bike I ever owned. I've had new F/Fs built up myself with new parts, and I've bought used complete bikes a couple of times. Anyway I loved the Carrera for about a year and then it was stolen off of my back porch (not a tragedy, replaced by a lightly used Raleigh Super Course which was a great bike).

I've wanted another Windsor - wanting an upgrade from the Carrera - for many years and keep an EBay search which I check from time to time.

Anyway, that Professional looks great and is probably my size (56 CTT probably equals ~54 or so CTC, and the 54.5 TT is my size). All wishful thinking because the closest I would ever be is probably Portland without extra travel cost.

Good luck and congratulations to whomever matches up with this!

OMG, what bad timing! I just picked up another project that I don't need BUT
this is my size AND I am in the general area...I will place a tentative "dibs" on this but 2 caveats

1. if I get selected for jury service this week (possibility) I won't be able to drive there (Saratoga) during "reasonable hours"
2. if anybody else chimes in before I take the drastic action of driving to Mike's they can cancel out my dibs, no complaints.

meantime, how about we go to PM
