I hate hoarders - 1988 Schwinn Premis

Stopped by a buddy's house who is a bike hoarder.
He's had an '88 Schwinn Premis hanging in his garage for several years and he periodically posts it and half-heartedly tries to sell it. I guess today was his breaking point because as soon as I walked in, he's all "You still want that schwinn"?
Of course I couldn't pass it up as I'm the worst hoarder of the local bunch...
Which one, you only have like 20?
I got it for less than a song, more like a melody.
Seems to be original except the godawful clipless (PD-M520) pedals.

Great snag! Late 80s higher end Schwinn's (especially Tenax) are wonderful riding bikes. Underrated, in my opinion.

I do, differ in opinion on the pedals. I have a pair that is at least a decade old and they still work great. Not pretty, but they get the job done!

We prefer the term “collectors”.

Jealous of that score!

IMHO, the best looking of all the 80s Schwinns. This is coming from someone with a black/chrome Circuit and pink/white SSport.

There's one just like it out in the barn, three sizes too big and missmatched wheels with not so good paint. Destined to be flipped in the spring.
