Nah, I've zero interest in dull plastic bikes, I'm all about classic steel from the 80's and 90's. I'm currently bidding on a "new' project, an outrageously rowdy Italian from 93, but my Ti Merckx from 96 is probably as close to the millennium as I'll ever get.

I was referring to clothes. And I’ve never ridden a carbon bike.

This reminds me of a kid at Mikwaukee Super Week circa 1977. He was 15-16 yrs old, a Junior from Colorado. With his dark skin I thought he was of Mexican descent. He was terribly shy, slight build, barely spoke a word. He was staying down the hall from my buddy and I at the infamous MSOE dorms. Whenever we saw him we would say, "Alex,(he was introduced to us as Alexi) Allexx how you doin Alllexxx". Drawing out his name, just trying to get him to smile, lighten up a bit.
Although there were Junior races daily, he only raced a few times during the week. But when he raced, and we'd see him out in the hallway waiting for the elevator, he was dressed like a little pro racer. Fresh vlean gloves, shined shoes, white socks with WC stripes, and his jersey in Italian colors. Topped of with a Danish patent leather helmet. Fresh white tape on his bars and full Campy equipped Italian bike. This kid looked sharp. We were like, "Who is this kid"? He looked more put together than most of the Seniors I raced with.
Well, 7 years later at the Olympics in LA, that shy well dressed Alllexxx would take the Gold medal in the mens road race....Alexi Grewal

Really with all the things going on the the world, me worrying about if my clothes match my bike is about 849 on my list of worries.

Sometimes yes, sometimes no. I have BH branded/labeled clothing that I'll wear when riding my BH bike. Other times I just grab whatever is clean and head out the door. Colour coordinating with my bike is not something that I think about too much.

In a word, never. Not that it is a conscious decision, nothing in my wardrobe matches Celeste green.

Never thought of matching my kit to my bike. Have generally just tossed on what I thought would work for the ride.

I know. Not one sense of style, in that regard. Figure that I've got plenty else to worry about, old bones that I am.

I have never seen such a topic come up in any of the other many forums that I participate in.

I have never seen a kayaker ask if kayakers clothes match their kayak.
I have never seen a boater ask if boaters clothes match their kayak.
I have never seen a tractor owner ask other tractor owners if their clothes match their tractor.
I have never seen an RVer ask another RVer if their clothes match their RV.
I have never seen a hunter ask another hunter if their clothes match their gear.

I'm confused now. Are people using kayaks boaters or are they kayakers?

Also, how much do you frequent the forums of boaters and kayakers to know that they don't ask about the clothing choices of other boaters and kayakers?

Of course I see a difference. My comment was about the difference. Riding bicycles isn't a sport anymore than paddling a kayak is. Racing either is a sport.

I am very regular on boating and kayaking social media. That's how I know what I know. It isn't uncommon for someone sponsored in competitive fishing to wear team gear, and it may even match the team logo on the vessels, but their sponsors require it. I have never seen a thread or a comment about them "matching" their vessels.

True. The Paddle de Ohio is streaming around the world next month. You can also buy a kayak racing package from FiOS.

And don’t miss the RV Grand Prix in September, where I hear there will be on-board camera so we can judge aesthetics.
