09/02 - 26.36 (PR distance), 1:50.37 (PR time ridden in one ride), 14.3mph avg, 2:00 fastest mile (PRindividual mile). About 65F at start, 77F at finish. Weekly weigh-in after ride: 203.2#.
09/04 - 26.31, 1:54.19, 2:05 fastest mile (coming back down the canyon). Canyon climb - painfully slow.
09/05 - 2.14. My puny commuting round trip distance. Many days, it’s faster to cycle than to drive.
09/06 - 14.33 - includes workout miles before work, plus commute.
09/07 - 19.07 - includes workout miles before work, commute to work and then the district office and back, and then home.
09/08 - 12.25, 45:53 rolling time, 16mph avg
09/09 - 30.24: distance PR. 2:35.15 rolling time: time in the saddle PR (and yes, I am chafed a bit). Max speed (downhill from canyon pavement dead-end): 37mph - downhill speed PR. Fastest mile: 1’49” - mile PR.
09/11 - 12.19, 46.53, 15.6 mph. Put Specialized saddle back on - the one I used Saturday is a no-go: too wide on the tongue, not enough of a channel. Played with the angle and position on this ride. It’s okay, but kind of hard.
09/12 - cross training, no miles
09/13 - 12.19, 45:40, 16mph avg
09/14 - 11.2: 8.35 tempo workout, 2.31 commuting.
09/15 - 9.36, 33.25, 16.8mph
09/16 - 22.04, 1:23.08, 15.9mph - on a trip to the LA area, rode from my hotel out to the Pacific Coast Highway and a few miles on it. Lots of water, which is nice to see for a desert dweller.
09/19 - 11.84, 43:09, 16.4mph
09/20 - 6.75, 25:20, 16mph
09/21 - 12.08, 45:40, 15.9mph
09/22 - 12.11 43:06, 16.9mph - PR average pace for this route/distance.
09/23 - 32.66, 2:17.38, 14.2mph avg pace. Rode to old Tombstone - 1800’ elevation change each way. About mile 16 when I stopped and bought a soda (which I am never doing again mid-ride), the shopkeeper thought I was nuts. About mile 26, I decided I had lost my senses. About mile 28, I had to stop again and dump the remainder of my plain water over my head and torso because I was no longer sweating enough, in spite of constantly sipping electrolyte mixed water.

Was really glad to get home. PR distance. Slower than I wanted to be, but still much faster than my last 30+ mile ride. Charity 44 mile ride I have scheduled for 7 October is looking more intimidating than I expected at this point. Of course, I won’t play tennis that morning, like I did today before I went for my ride.

Sept MTD: 270.44

Sept goal: 300
