Solar intensity logger data field for Garmin
FYI. It's in the Connect IQ Store, and the code is on github.
This works with the 1040, Fenix 6 and 7, Forerunner 955, Instinct 2, and I think some Tactix and Quatix models too. Am I missing anything?
The end result is your activities get a chart like this:
(From yesterday's swim.)

You want this to know if you have too much exposure?

Is it possible to make one to tell me if I'm off course and getting sunburned at the same time?

Not of you hate progress and fear change.
There are a lot of ways information helps people. That's why books exist, and the internet too.

For what it's worth. Somebody I work with is taking cycling up, he wants to lose weight. Asked for advice about good loops to ride. He prefers shaded routes, I guess it's hard riding in the summer sun when you're heavy set. This data made it easier to give him some routes he'll enjoy riding.

I'm not sure if you are saying I hate change, but I don't see it in either of my previous posts. I'm impressed you wrote a connect app. I wouldn't mind making a different watch face, none of the ones I see really meet my needs. Either too simple or too complex.
Data can be useful in ways that you didn't foresee. I don't know if shade would help me, but I'm having problems with my asthma and it would be interesting to try because it's temperature related. Last year I had an attack as soon as the tree cover went away on a climb. I never really thought about the possibility that it was related.

Sorry. After the last time the idea of solar came up and two BF members attacked me for wanting to benefit from this data, I'm trying to help people who are interested but also trying to avoid a repeat. Being bullied here was not a pleasant experience.
