Earth, Wind and Fire songs are so great, catchy lyrics that make no sense over the best funk possible.

Next mission: Christmas/Kwanzaa/Hanukkah or Halloween decorations which have been left up since last year (or older). Not your own!

Actually , I was riding 70 miles in 95 degree weather in Hillsborough County New Hampshire yesterday so right now it's a little hard to spot the difference. No yellow fire engines here, however.
Newcomers are from Italy and Florida, we're getting bigger on the peninsulas!

Ok, Ok, that's technically correct, but in American English, "shining" is more likely to be used as an adjective in a poetic setting--e.g., "sea to shining sea". I actually should have said that while "shining" can be a verb or an adjective, "shiny" is never a verb, so the meaning is more obvious.
Maybe it's an idiom difference, but is the meaning of a "shining fire fighting apparatus" clear in British English?

I didn't know what he meant, and there were several possibilities. Some fire engines have very bright spotlights on them, all of them have flashing lights, and apparatus also doesn't necessarily mean trucks.
I've never heard anyone use the word "shining" to describe any kind of truck in the U.S., have you? "Shiny", yes, but not shining.
And speaking of being pedantic...

There's absolutely no problem. For a non English mother tongue speaker, it is very profitable to have the possibility to participate in forum's discussions. And, of course, I could certainly make mistakes or mispell something. But that's part of the game.
Let's go ahead with the assignment, full steam, and let's enjoy every minute of it.

I did find it funny to be told there's no difference between American and British English in a discussion about how to describe trucks/lorries.

As somebody who works with people throughout the US, UK, Ireland, South Africa, and Australia, I can certainly confirm that there is a vast array of differences in English.

50/50 chance that the ping pong match that will then ensue will be actual or metaphorical.
The debate on "Who's on first" shall follow thereafter.

Landscaping used to make a sculpture. If it takes a while to figure out what it is, all the better.

It’s in the playground for the Denver Children’s Museum. You should see the one in Alburquerque. It’s about 100 feet long.

I was looking for something more 3 dimensional.

More pics of it on Nashua RI city website.
That looks like fun! I'm working with a group planning a park and I'm going to mention it to them.

As long as you know it's Nashua, NH, not RI. That coud be a very long walk.

I wouldn't have said anything but didn't want you to send someone on a wild goose chase.
Gotta say, I find this mission confusing.
