Oh, hell yeah, I'm going to have to post more incorrect grammar advice if this is what gets posted in response.

Earth, Wind and Fire songs are so great, catchy lyrics that make no sense over the best funk possible.

Bonus points if there are Firefighters in the pic.
Hope it's ok for a newcomer to join? If so, how's this one?

Thanks! Indeed, the Florida one. Couldn't you feel the oppressive heat radiating out of the image? So, I choose the next mission, yeah?

Next mission: Christmas/Kwanzaa/Hanukkah or Halloween decorations which have been left up since last year (or older). Not your own!

Actually , I was riding 70 miles in 95 degree weather in Hillsborough County New Hampshire yesterday so right now it's a little hard to spot the difference. No yellow fire engines here, however.

Newcomers are from Italy and Florida, we're getting bigger on the peninsulas!

Maybe it's an idiom difference, but is the meaning of a "shining fire fighting apparatus" clear in British English?
It is not 'British English' it is Just ENGLISH. and yes it worked in English. I was surprised that it was not understood. I thought you were being pedantic I realise you didn't grasp the sentence from the context.

I didn't know what he meant, and there were several possibilities. Some fire engines have very bright spotlights on them, all of them have flashing lights, and apparatus also doesn't necessarily mean trucks.

I've never heard anyone use the word "shining" to describe any kind of truck in the U.S., have you? "Shiny", yes, but not shining.

And speaking of being pedantic...

"My fellow Americans... (and British..)" (heck, a very presidential intro...)

There's absolutely no problem. For a non English mother tongue speaker, it is very profitable to have the possibility to participate in forum's discussions. And, of course, I could certainly make mistakes or mispell something. But that's part of the game.

Let's go ahead with the assignment, full steam, and let's enjoy every minute of it.

One of the fun things about this thread and international forums in general is finding out if there are differences in idioms that native speakers might not be aware of. I don't think you actually misspelled something, you just used a form of a word that sounded odd to this American. Apparently, to the British and the New Zealander, it didn't sound odd, so if anyone has been corrected it is me.

I did find it funny to be told there's no difference between American and British English in a discussion about how to describe trucks/lorries.

As somebody who works with people throughout the US, UK, Ireland, South Africa, and Australia, I can certainly confirm that there is a vast array of differences in English.

50/50 chance that the ping pong match that will then ensue will be actual or metaphorical.

The debate on "Who's on first" shall follow thereafter.

Gotta find me a rotten pumpkin!

Landscaping used to make a sculpture. If it takes a while to figure out what it is, all the better.

It’s in the playground for the Denver Children’s Museum. You should see the one in Alburquerque. It’s about 100 feet long.

Going to need to make a call on this one. It's a small plaza that's actually a labyrinth:

More pics of it on Nashua RI city website.

That looks like fun! I'm working with a group planning a park and I'm going to mention it to them.

I wouldn't have said anything but didn't want you to send someone on a wild goose chase.

Gotta say, I find this mission confusing.
