Purchasing / Installing Front Fork
Hello
I bought a 2009 S-works Tarmac SL2 frame and trying to build it up but don't have any experience with it.
First step is to purchase and install front fork. It looks like my frame is 1-1/2" - 1-1/8" tapered headset with 15 cm in length.
I'm looking at this fork from ebay but it looks like it's only got about 18 cm from crown to the top, which only leaves 3 cm on top. Is this enough? I read on this forum that 5 cm is a good number.

2nd question.
The fork from eBay has a metal ring in it. If that a crown racing or compression ring?
Last question.
Let me know if I'm missing any parts to complete the fork assembly.

Top Cap with expander
Stem
Spacers
Compression Ring
Upper Bearing
Lower Bearing
Crown Racing

Front fork you say? I'm more of a rear fork expert but I can tell you that 3cm isn't enough. Find another fork.

Ask the seller for an accurate measurement of steerer length and go from there. Sorry misread your message, you definitely need a longer steerer.
