Dubious Duo: Dead Donut Destiny
Imagine my excitement on seeing this mission! I'd been waiting on someone to request a sewage plant! I've got one right next to work, with a nice sign and all:
Turkey Creek Wastewater Treatment Plant Entrance
Looking through the fence at Turkey Creek WWTP.
And I go by another one on one of my commute routes; I figured I'd snap the same photo of the entrance and done done. (The plants themselves they like to hide behind tall wood fences. For some reason the main gate at Turkey Creek was open to a second chain link gate this morning.)
But alas, at West District WWTP, I couldn't find a sign. Nothing but fence. I finally climbed up on a jungle gym in the adjacent park and got this pretty awful shot:
Lousy picture of West District WWTP from playground on west side.
Of course, you can't hide from Google behind a simple 8' wood fence:
Google spy satellite image of Turkey Creek WWTP.

Funny how those clarifiers sorta look like donuts....
Anyway I'll await DrIsotope's approval; I do have a new mission in mind.

Works for me. It's nice to see that California isn't the only place that seems to love putting bike trails right next to waste water treatment facilities. I mean yeah, sure, they share waterways in common. A "river trail" is likely gonna pass a treatment plant.
Still nothing quite like riding by the plant on a nice warm summer morning, and having to hold one's breath for 90 seconds.

Next Mission: Roadside Historical Marker
I would like to see your bike and a roadside historical marker. Be nice to be able to read the history; I'm sure I'll learn something!

Brutalist Building
Two, one to the alleged birthplace of the alleged Uncle Sam.
And one to a tough old dude.
A friend wrote a bad limerick about him:
Night fell on April Nineteen in Seventy-five
When poor old Sam Whittemore, barely alive
Slumped in his rocking chair
Cried in his beer
“Why will the good poet write about Paul Revere?”
FWIW, About the “Battle of Lexington and Concord”: “All told, far more blood was shed in Menotomy and Cambridge than elsewhere that day. The colonists lost 25 men killed and nine wounded there, and the British lost 40 killed and 80 wounded, with the 47th Foot and the Marines suffering the highest casualties. Each was about half the day's fatalities.”

(Intoxication may have been a factor.)
Next mission: Brutalist Building
p.s. Parking garages are not buildings

You guys are a hoot.
How are people in California all skinny if you have so many donut shops? I mean... I can only think of 2 in our area. But then in Racine we have the famous Danish "Kringle" here. But there's only a few of them too. It's really good.
I like "Manna Donuts". That is a great name!!!! Donuts do seem like they fell from heaven. I used to eat them a lot but haven't had one in like 15 years. Fighting lyme disease has put a damper on my treat eating. I think donuts will be the next treat I try though....
And I said you get extra credit for showing an actual bag or donut. Not or multiple shops. Sheeez. Some peoples kids... LOL. Just kidding. Great post. Along with the rest of you all!!!!
I don't know of a building like that...... Hmmmmmmmm....

I'm not very well versed in architecture, so I hope there is at least one there that qualifies as brutalist. Unfortunately by the time I finish work, the daylight is gone, so proper lighting becomes a factor too; there were a few ones along my route that wouldn't be out place here, but were too dark to get a decent shot.
I don't know what this building houses

Those are indeed brutalist. The most famous example in Riga is the diesel factory above! And it’s a great pic too.
Next mission?

Liked for the quality of the photos and the multiple fulfillment of the assignment. I still abhor Brutalism.

Hueneme Lighthouse. Not the first, and I couldn't make it to the donut shop, 40 mph winds yesterday. Nice over at the coast. I couldn't get a decent detail shot of the historical marker, but it is a cool kind of art deco lighthouse.

For those who love brutalist (and I suppose those who hate, if only to know where not to ride), suggest these maps.
On your mission? We have not had an airplane. Runway and helicopters.
NOT an entry (the Donkey Bike is about 6000 km away):

Aeroplane at Aeroport. Next: "Classic" Car
Airplanes around these parts..
This is at the West Houston Airport. Funny, no one with security came and hassled me.
The next mission is your bike in front of a particular type of road-worthy car.
The acceptable models are:
Western Hemisphere: AMC Pacer, Gremlin, Hornet, Javelin, Matador, Ambassador, Marlin, Eagle, AMX, Concord, Spirit.
Eastern Hemisphere: Trabant or pre 1989 Dacia.
Bonus point if picture is taken in the other hemisphere.
The “road-worthy” criteria means it must appear in the photo as something that is driven on public roads. It should have a license plate. It should not be covered in heavy dust, flat tires, on blocks, or with weeds growing out of the hood. Windows if not intact should show signs of maintenance like duct-taped plastic bags to keep out the elements. Later Renault badge engineering not accepted.
(By the way, part of my ancestry is Nash-Rambler-American Motors on my maternal grandparents side… and I can imagine the scarcity of such in the Eastern Hemisphere... those are the two eastern European car models that I imagine might have roughly equal photo opportunity over there...)

My father's previous car was a 1949 Hudson which was a great car and we took many family trips in it. I wish I had some pictures of those two cars.

First, that first picture of the building is STUNNING!!! The night colors make it look like sepia. Very cool.
Such an exciting thread and thanks for the next mission. Despite what I'm showing you next I don't know of one close to me. LOL.
AMC is my territory. I have never owned one. But many people in my family have AND, my Great Grandpa retired from there in 65. He was high up in the "Experimental Division". According to my Grandma. He was my hero growing up. Here is a pic of him and stuff from AMC:

That last pic was him. Charles Jacob McDowell. Died in 86. He was 86 years old. I was 14. We just buried his Daughter, my Grandma, last Saturday. She was 98. He always looked like this to me though, LOL. He was a great great guy. And my Grandma was a lot like him in the aspect of they were both full of life! My Great Grandpa had a more tender touch towards me though that affected me positively a lot. My Grandma was always all about my sister. LOL. Families....
My Great Grandpa and one of my cousins. He rode that motorcycle into his early 80's.

Getting close
Ok, assuming it has been restored just find the Pacer.

And now I understand the donkey bike comment. (So the rest of y’all don’t have to look it up, Donkey Republic is a chain of bicycle rentals in Europe. Appears similar to B-Cycle here. Which then led me to find out B-Cycle in Denver has just shut down... Bummer I was going to use it next week.)

The rest of the story ..
It seems he really wants the bonus point and I for one am rooting for him to find an AMC car before someone else goes by that Hornet wagon I see on my commute.

Is it yellow? Would love to see a hornet wagon. My guess is you're about the only one with an AMC on your path. They can be pretty rare at this point. My buddy from high school is actually selling his Rambler that he restored. It's in pretty good shape but he's nowhere near my riding routes....
