A lot of Kevin Bacon's bike riding in Quicksilver was actually done by a stunt double (David Brinton).

A bit tricky with TA Jacques Anquetil nail-on cleats on a slick surface. Haven't thought of that, much less tried it, in at least 50 years.
Do you have video of this? Please say yes.

I learned to ride a bike after learning to ride a horse. Do not swing your leg over a horse's head. Well, I guess you could do it once ...

In that video that stunt biker has a really wild seat (no, on the bike)

What is it??? Looks like a Brooks after using something "other than Proofhide", but seriously???

Not a lot of videotaping going on in 1965. But it's not that hard to do. Try it while riding on dirt or grass to start with. As I said, kick one pedal forward at the top of the stroke while swinging your other foot down to the ground; at the same time, let go of the handlebars and grab the saddle with one hand. Won't take you more than a couple of tries to get it down.

So I jump ship in Hong Kong and I make my way over to Tibet, and I get on as a looper at a course over in the Himalayas.

A looper?

A looper, you know, a caddy, a looper, a jock.

I have a little poem I'd like to read in honor of this occasion, if I may...

Spaulding, get your foot off the boat!

Spaulding, get your foot off the boat!
It’s easy to grin
When your ship comes in
And you’ve got the stock market beat
But the man who’s worth while
Is the man who can smile
When his shorts aren’t too tight in the seat
