I doubt they have any racing pedigree whatsoever, but I’d be interested to read the OP’s answer.

All I get from looking at the cable routings and parts specs of the OP's posts is a profound hatred for bike mechanics.

Personally, I have no mixed feelings about your Casati, it is beautiful. I really like the adjustable derailleur stops on the head tube. Using a functional braze-on and making it even better. Can a conventional BB be used?

Seat post is held by an internal clamp. There’s a hex bolt accessible from the other side of the frame. I never have liked the inelegant transition from the oversized seat tube.

Mark laid them out pretty well in post no. 11. Not sure what “running circles” means, but for race pedigree and ease of maintenance, I’ll take my Cinelli SC any day.

Thanks! And yes, it has a standard Italian threaded bottom bracket.

What ease of maintenance are you talking about?

And your Corsa would lose.

@ smd4 + Atlas Shrugged

During the month of August I will spend some days of vacations with Olivier CSUKA and Jean Paul Routens.
I think these names speak to you ... if not before searching in the web, it means that you have a f... problem with the top bikes world
I will publish some pictures of all of us together and ...with some Mercet.

P.S Atlas,, can you tell me more about you and send me some pictures of your work, but only by PM, it's to show to Olivier... Thx

As a mechanic, I sure wouldn’t want to adjust those brakes or seatposts, or thread any of those cables. But honestly, I’m happy you enjoy your bike.

So how many races have Mercets won, compared to SC’s?

For fillets, I've always been partial to our local builder Steve Rex.

I suspect that there are threaded pieces brazed into the brake bridge and fork crown (like water bottle mounts) into which the pivot bolts thread.

What if you install them that way, but when they’re tightened, the caliper arms are pointing straight up? Or towards the side?

Nobody said i would be easy.

You could use spacers to position the bolt in the necessary orientation. It would take some trial and error, but should work. A nit-picker might measure the thickness of the necessary spacers and machine a custom one of the proper thickness for a clean look.
