which bridge is that?
I went across the Page Ave. bridge in 2019, and came back across the I-64 bridge. Very nice additions since my departure from the St. Louis area in 1994!

back in those days, I spent some time working in St. Charles and occasionally would take the St. Charles Rock Road bridge. Talk about C&V! The lanes were very narrow and did stress me a bit. On the plus side, the bridge did have a separate walkway that could be used to walk one's bike across. I did try this a few times, but only on a weekend when traffic was low.
A shot from the old days...

Steve in Peoria, and very appreciative that I never had to commute over a bridge when I worked here.

That would be on the Page Bridge. Indeed in the last few years there have been major improvements to crossing the Missouri River. New bridge for 40-64 and barriers placed on the 370 bridge for bikes and pedestrians. The old Rock Road bridge is long gone. I rode that bridge in the 60s going to St Charles to buy firecrackers. I have a picture somewhere of my grandfather working on the old Rock Road bridge when it was constructed. Sometime this summer, I am planning to park on the St Louis side of the 370 bridge, cross and ride the Katy to the 364 bridge, cross and return, then proceed to the 40/64 bridge, cross and return. Return back to 370 bridge and recross.

Freeport Bridge, just south of Sacramento CA over the Sacramento River. It provides the direct link between the teeming metropolises (metropoli?) of Freeport and Clarksburg.

As the sign says, much of its length is metal grid. I'm glad they are thinking of motorcyclist safety. I guess we are on our own . . . .

I couldn’t find the bikes and tunnels thread, so I thought I’d post this here: on the Road to the Sun, Glacier National Park:

Devil’s slide trestle.

That’s about 1200 feet of air down to Boulder Creek.

From across the canyon about a mile away (and about 1200 feet down and 1000 feet back up)

Children's Boulevard over-crossing on Highway 41. The flags and banner are a tribute to firefighters battling the Washburn Fire about 50 miles in the distance in Yosemite National Park.

About a mile south on a different day, on the old Highway 41 bridge over the San Joaquin River.
