Road Cycling “It is by riding a bicycle that you learn the contours of a country best, since you have to sweat up the hills and coast down them. Thus you remember them as they actually are, while in a motor car only a high hill impresses you, and you have no such accurate remembrance of country you have driven through as you gain by riding a bicycle.” -- Ernest Hemingway

Nice week and glad that the crash didn't turn out worse. Gotta love helmets!

Can you break those down by week, or do you jut want to report monthly?

Really thought after this weekend I would need to see the doc, but the wrist is mending quickly. At this rate, I should be able to log miles by Saturday. It is so hard to watch you all log the miles while just sitting here.

Very good news! If it helps any, only about 30 miles of the riding I did last week was enjoyable.

January totals:

Distance : 515.33 (km)
Goal : 12, 500 (km) - I changed it due to some calculations and realizing my old one was wayy off what it should be.
Time : 20:22:20 (hr:min:sec)
Weight : 160.8 (lbs) +5.8 lbs from goal, won't start trying until race time

January finished at 402 miles which was pretty much on pace with my 5000 mile goal. February started out slow due to some exceptionally high winds this week but picking up the pace.

[QUOTE=RTDub;15207076]Pigster - please note whether you gained or lost a pound by posting the number, or are you just incredibly light? Thanks :-)

Looks like some of you had a phenomenal week, while some of us stayed close to zero. I know how that feels, but don't get down on yourselves. This project is really coming together nicely and I hope that the community effort sometimes motivates you to get out and bump up your graph. Can't tell you how I have missed riding while being laid up with a bad left paddle. Hoping to pick it up this week with the 1x9 so I can 'rest' the left hand.

Since I am accepting entries through three mediums (this thread, PMs and e-mail), please let me know if I have missed anything. I would appreciate it if you used e-mail, but understand if you do not wish to share your identity.

Ride on!

This is cool. Too bad I didnt get in on this last year. I rode about 2500 miles (mostly the last six months) and lost 52 lbs. However, I lost the majority of weight using an elliptical and running (and changing diet/eating habits).
Currently 169 lbs.
Goal 160 lbs.
Goal mileage: 5000

Do miles on rollers count? If so, I have 376 miles YTD.

Thanks for doing this!

throw my 2 cents in here (5 cents as we don't have the penny anymore)

this document is HUGE for motivation for me. There was a week where i didn't think i'd be able to get on the bike and i was fine with it until i realized that i didn't want to put a zero on the chart so i found the time.

there was another week where i saw I was in last place (this isn't a race) but optically, it got to me so i upped my time on the trainer.

both of these things were direct results of the chart.

Watching you all log miles has motivated me to make up my lost time when DST kicks in. I typically get to work two hours early, and will simply extend my commute to rack up some miles.

I will add you guys, but please take note of the submission instructions in the original post. It is easiest for me to either accept the stats through e-mail or with a PM, which you cannot send until you hit 50 posts.

Everyone is on the chart now. For any of you who have yet to report miles would like to do so, you are not off the chart for good, I am just conserving horizontal real estate on the chart. If you want back in, ya gotta show me the miles!

What a ****ty week. Not only have I had to shovel my walk every day for the last 5 or 6 days, but I've haven't had much trainer time, either. This is what I get for having a 20 month old and moving in to a new house in the winter in MN - never of shortage of crap that needs to be done. I wasn't banking on much road time between Dec and March, but this is getting annoying.

I've got a good pal who runs the US Hockey Hall in Eveleth. We miss him here in Colorado, and suspect he took the snow and 'regular' winter weather with him when he moved. Hopefully spring is good to you.

The wrist is almost healed up. Side to side is still a little uncomfortable, but cycling-related motion is working. More miles today.

Snow this morning, but it is wetter than it should be for early Feb. Punxatawney Phil must've been right. It is going to be an ugly week as we are expecting true winter conditions for at least three of the days, and barely warm enough to start melting what has fallen. Looks like target date for back on bike is Saturday.

10Wheels is racking up the miles, but I expect the graph to change dramatically once warmer weather kicks in. For those of us who are languishing with injury or winter weather, do not despair!

Now for those who are logging massive miles, how about some pics?
