1974 Schwinn Paramount Deluxe Touring
In the wake of the passing of my father, I recently took possession of his bike collection as we shared a love of cycling and both of us raced road and touring bikes in our teens. One of these bikes is his 1974 Schwinn Paramount Deluxe Touring bike. I am not sure if it originally was a P10 or a P15 as I have both crank sets, though it currently has the two-ring set on the bike for the P10 configuration. It is solid with no major issues besides wear and tear (scratches in paint and stickers) and some evidence of its age in its appearance. It appears to have all of its original Campi equipment and Cinelli handlebars with Weinmann front rim and a Super Champion rear rim. I don't quite know how to value it. Any information or assistance would be greatly appreciated.

Further inspection seems to verify it as a P10-9 as the triple ring does not appear to be original - the third ring is not a Campagnolo, and it has the Campagnolo Nuovo Record derailleur.

Nice bike. Are you positive the bike is a 74? Serial number looks to be A7880 decals look to be 76 -79. Ebay sale $600+ local sale $400+

I would ask for something closer to $1K for that. You can always accept less. But, you can never ask for more. Have fun. Be good.

...here, these Paramounts in good shape ( regardless of model) used to sell on the local CL for about $1000. Then for about the past six years, as prices dropped for every used bike on CL, they started listing lower, some in the $5-600 range (but also in less pristine condition). Now the local CL asking prices seem to have rebounded back to where they were some years back. On Ebay they usually seem to be listed for much more, but I don't track the sale prices.
I can't tell from the photos you posted, but the touring Paramounts have very obvious longer chainstays, and they came equipped with long cage derailleurs. Here are two 70's Paramounts, so you can see what I mean.

...here's one now on my local CL asking $1300. Same size as yours, but the wheel rims match.
I think this guy might be a dealer. Something about the description rings a bell.
Where I have worked, people just said, " I dunno what's wrong with my bike, but I want you to affix it."

All of the photos I have like that are too large to upload, so I posted the smaller ones. I will try to get some that will be small enough to post tomorrow...fingers crossed.
