Thanks for posting that ^ Curbtender - some tall guy around San Jose could do pretty well.

Here is a 1975 model going for 265 around Fenton MI. (not mine) - A fairly reasonable price if it's as good as it looks. . .

Here is my '73 Green Super Course that I've posted here in C&V before. It was my first SC, and it was the start of my affinity for them.

Shimano Light Action DR's, Sakae crank, Panaracer Pasela TG tires. (BTW Jenson has them on sale now for $19.95)

Last edited by auchencrow; 03-19-10 at 09:34 PM. Reason: It has Capella lugs so it is a '73 not a '74 as previously posted.

Both of these are way overdue for new portraits.....

'71 now equipped with 70's Campag G.S.

'80 has had a B-17 on it for two years, and proper Lyotard 36 pedals with chrome clips.

Here's my entry. I pulled it out of a recycle pile at the local dump. Just my size. Last time I counted I had parts from over a dozen bikes on it. Many of them from the same dump. The frame, fork headset and some of the bottom bracket are origional. The 3rd chainring was origionally part of the origional freewheel, too.
I keep saying I'm gonna paint it this winter but I haven't been able to take the sandpaper to it. Patina kind of grows on you, like moss or lichen.

Spectacular work on the third chainring addition! Did you have to drill new holes in the cog?

I rode my green '73 SC to work this morning. This one's a little cleaner.

Thanks! Yeah and I had to play with some washers to get the spacing between the rings right. In the end I was surprised at how easy it was. I'd have done it years ago.

I've owned a half dozen, but the two currently in the fleet are

a 1972 w/ a Sturmey-Archer AM rear hub; it now sports a Sturmey bar-end shifter (which works great):

a 1975 Mk II--my snow and mud bike, running as a single speed:

Right on - I've got an early '70s Coppi that's serving duty as my foul weather bike with similar cranks. I think I'll do the same. Not sure if the Campy Valentino FD can handle it or not, but it's worth a shot.

Here's a link if you'd care to have a look:

Cheers!

Nice foul weather bike. Make sure you don't get a ring that's too small for your bolt pattern.

Here is my SC. It's a 1973 that I had repainted in BRG with ivory. Most of the hanging bits are also upgrades from my original bike. The original color was flame.

I have six, but only one is ridable at the moment. The others are under construction(someday) and as bare frames..,,,,BD

Black one, this is the oddball Prugnat lugged model. That has to be rare, everyone here seemed stumped by the lugs? This thing deserves complete customization! I may start on it some day soon, who knows.

The 79, or is it 80 Super Course 12. I love everything about this bike!!

I have a few others, including a 71 that may be converted into upright bars, and one late 70's I found a few weeks ago...

Wow -SIX S/C.'s !
You are awesome. I don't think anyone is going to beat that record (though it sometimes seems that I am working on it).

Your SC12 is gorgeous.

I have these same lugs on my '68 and the addition of a Carlton wrapped seat stays...they appear to be Prugnat Type 62 'BIS'...no?

The lugs don't stump me as much as the well-done lug shorelines and tasteful seat stay cap.

By comparison, a '74 Capella-lugged Competition:

...not that I'm saying either of these two bikes are particularly representative examples.

Nice super courses everybody. I'm on the hunt for one to build up with all the goodies I've snagged from the bikes I've flipped. I thought I finally found one it was a 74 but it sold 20 minutes before I got there to snatch it up. The old fella that had it kept it in pristine condition and sold it for $75.

Ouch... You say it was sold when you got there??? - Did you at least lose out to the 1st caller? - or did you get screwed?
