How about less drugs? Alcohol is classified as a drug not a food. Apparently, there seems to be a dispute about whether water is or is not an essential nutrient and therefore... a food. Less of food in general may be too general to those who might say--e.g., potato chips--never not less. Not sure if eating less bread and water is a healthy choice if that's all you've got.

Eat food, mostly plants, not so much.
Dont over think this. I take it to mean eat real food not as much processed food out of packages etc. mostly plants, duh you know what that means not vegan, not weird, just mostly plants and that doesn’t mean just plants. Not so much, most important aspect.
Im working on it, this is my mantra. That and quit shoveling so much **** in your fat gullett.

@McBTC;
Maybe not advisable.
Research Findings
You may find it interesting to know about the people who have enrolled in the registry thus far.

Research Findings
You may find it interesting to know about the people who have enrolled in the registry thus far.
- 80% of persons in the registry are women and 20% are men.
- The "average" woman is 45 years of age and currently weighs 145 lbs, while the "average" man is 49 years of age and currently weighs 190 lbs.
- Registry members have lost an average of 66 lbs and kept it off for 5.5 years.
- These averages, however, hide a lot of diversity:
-
- Weight losses have ranged from 30 to 300 lbs.
- Duration of successful weight loss has ranged from 1 year to 66 years!
- Some have lost the weight rapidly, while others have lost weight very slowly--over as many as 14 years.
- We have also started to learn about how the weight loss was accomplished: 45% of registry participants lost the weight on their own and the other 55% lost weight with the help of some type of program.
- 98% of Registry participants report that they modified their food intake in some way to lose weight.
- 94% increased their physical activity, with the most frequently reported form of activity being walking.
- There is variety in how NWCR members keep the weight off. Most report continuing to maintain a low calorie, low fat diet and doing high levels of activity.
-
- 78% eat breakfast every day.
- 75% weigh themselves at least once a week.
- 62% watch less than 10 hours of TV per week.
- 90% exercise, on average, about 1 hour per day.

Breakfast for me every day is ~1,300 calories. (That's more than a lot of people eat in a day.)
For that I get 100 g of protein.

There's really nothing special about breakfast.
But feeling deprived tends to catch up with people and cause them to binge.
So it's a good idea to find a way of eating that's sustainable for you and doesn't feel like any kind of a hardship.

So, in a nutshell... don't eat nuts and... put less butter on the popcorn (and, live in a 3-story house)?

You will lose weight if you eat only foods whose names begin with A through M and avoid foods whose names begin with N through Z. That's because it eliminates half of the available foods.

I have found that intermittent fasting has helped me tremendously. I can also eat whatever I want as my last meal due to not eating anything throughout the day.
