Not riding it yet. I didn’t like the bolt, so I’m going with a QR. The new 25.8 post came in yesterday. Saddle will be re-done with memory foam. I am drilling out the back of the fork today to accommodate a recessed mount brake caliper. Then hang cables, chain, and nice platform pedals.

True mixte, correctly called out.

Very nice, love it.

Nice!. Those are hell to upgrade, but for such inexpensive bikes, the Pug mixtes are remarkably riding frames with great manners.

@bbbob, what is it? It's very shiny, and the Ideale saddle looks in good condition. Is there more to the story?

Found this recently. Mostly original except for a few items (rims, cockpit) and looks like it was hardly ridden.

Raleigh Gran Prix mixte in need of good home...

Hi all,

I've got a mid-1970s Raleigh Gran Prix mixte needing a home. I was so thrilled to find it offered by a recycling scheme and snapped it up to serve as my daily ride while working in Virginia, even though the job was only for 3 months. I've now returned home (to the UK) but still need to find a new home for this lovely bike. I really wish I could have brought it home with me but it just wasn't feasible. (I have something of a mixte addiction and have too many already...)

Anyway, it's currently stored safely in a friend's garage in Williamsburg, Virginia, available for viewing and test ride for anyone who may be interested.
Photos available on request*. Asking US$200. Thank you!

EDITED: I will try putting it in the Sales section. Thanks @daverup for that suggestion.

* Just found out I'm not allowed to post photos or links as I haven't made at least 10 posts before... apparently in the past 12 years, I've only posted 9 times!

All you needed was 10 posts.
PS, don't try selling the bike here. Go to the sales section. I'd edit your post if I were you.

Okay, thanks.
I've tried posting about it in general bike sales forums but it just doesn't get any attention.
My attempts to put it in front of people who are known to actually appreciate mixtes have been stymied at every turn.

There is a C&V sales section at the top of the C&V page. It would be better there. Good luck.

With the scrapes and nicks in your bikes paint, the value will go down a bit.

So belated welcome aboard, you're in the right place. Couple more things that weren't brought up yet.

You may need 5 posts X 1 or 2 days for pics, maybe, not sure, its an anti-spam measure that serves us very well.

You must buy a membership to list for sale (its cheap) and keep in mind we are a cheapskate lot despite the ridiculous amount of $$$ and resources we expend on this.

And most importantly "too many" means you need to get us lots of pics or it didn't happen.

Here's a few of Ms. merziac's fleet.

Wonderful bikes!
I've been a member here for nearly 12 years and I'm fully paid up.
I've listed my Raleigh mixte over in the C/V sales thread as recommended.
Here are the two "keepers" in my stable.

Tx!

Wow, all good, you truly are one of us, upright and drop bar of the same bike, that is fabulous.

Don't think I've seen that here with mixte's.
