When we go on cycling vacations and have zero responsibilities other than cycling and eating I usually start around 10 and get back in the afternoon sometime.

Pretty much the only time I pedal is when i am riding my bike. i do that whenever all the other factors in my life allow me to.

My favorite time to ride is when I don't feel rushed, and when everyone else on the road feels the same way. Ironically, although when I do ride in the morning before work I may be pressed for time, I don't feel rushed. It feels like 100% leisure. And you get the sense that the drivers at that time of day are out so early precisely so they don't have to rush.

If you're talking time of day, it's late afternoon and evening.
If you mean time of the year, it's definitely Spring. Love that season for everything ...including cycling.

No such thing where I live. It gets above 100 sometimes, but not by much and not for long. I'm sure I'd reach my limit in PHX, or possibly somewhere humid.

Evenings in Fall season for the sunsets, daytimes in Winter for the clear skies, slowly getting earlier rolling through Spring into Summer to avoid the blistering Summers.

Early morning a tad before sunrise. Nice and cool, smeels nice, peaceful, no one out, etc. Watch the sunrise, get a killer ride in, cool off, get some coffee and something to eat after...the best.
Today is my rest day, but tomorrow morning I get to do my early AM sunday ride...was just thinking about where I should go!
I am no a morning person, but it is very rewarding to force yourself to go

You must have older kids. My 1 and 6 year old still need to learn how to sleep in.

I'm not a morning person, I'm retired and can ride any time I like. I like to have a good lunch and leave soon after. Right now it's cold in the mornings, the warmest time of the day is between 4 and 6 PM. I'm, usually home by 5

My favorite time to start a ride is 3:00 AM. No traffic (the drunks have already landed and the daytime drivers are still sleeping). It lets me get out away from the city and suburbs without any hassles other than the occasional wildlife. By the time I'm heading back into town, the suburbanites are often heading back home after their morning shopping.

Same here. Most of my miles are on my commutes, but Sundays I get out for a nice long ride. Usually around 1pm when my daughter goes down for a nap with my wife for 2-3 hrs. Works out just fine for me, especially in the summer, as I love riding in the heat. Plus...if I feel like a shorter ride...I can hang at the pub and have a pint or two while the kid sleeps and call it "being considerate" by not waking them up

New York has been called "The City that Never Sleeps," but this isn't quite true. I'd be more inclined to call it "The City that Never Takes a Nap." Traffic eases up a little between 10 and 11 am, and doesn't really thin out until around 1 a.m.. It does sleep for about an hour, around 4 to 5 each morning, but even then, party people are still going from place to place. Fortunately, they aren't driving themselves. Aside from that, there really is no lull in activity; there are no quiet times and no quiet days, until Mother Nature forces the city to be still (blizzards, hurricanes).
I live in the suburbs now, and here in Bergen County, stores are closed Sundays, so it's typically the quieter day of the weekend. Weekday morning rides have to be very early, because I have to be on my way to work by about 7:45, and even in mid-summer I get home too late to ride in the evenings. I wouldn't even think of riding in the dark when there's much traffic, as I find oncoming headlights to be too blinding. I don't even like to drive at night. I can deal with the occasional car or truck I encounter on early morning rides, but a constant stream - no way.

As winter progresses, the best ride become 2 or 3 pm for a couple hours ... the lunch traffic is back at work, and I can get out of town before the schools let out (which can be a nightmare in town.)
Lately any time my poor mental and physical health and ridiculous schedule let me get on a bike is the perfect time.

Since I'm already using the indoor trainer I prefer to pedal somewhere between 11:00 P.M. and 1:00 A.M. I'm what you'd call a night owl, especially in the winter.

This is why I like riding on overcast days. In wooded areas, no matter the time, as long as the sun is up, shadows camouflage the potholes, ruts and other hazards. In summer it's usually not as bad - the shadows are pretty solid/continuous, but in winter, when the trees have lost their leaves, forget about it.

The very rural roads, late at night Sunday, past midnight. It seems as if everyone has gone home early to get ready for Monday. It is so quiet I can hear a car from a long way off. If it is a flat straight road I can see a car more than half a mile away (happens, but rarely).
Close to home it becomes suburban, I can still ride down the middle of the road, if I feel like it, most of the time.

I like to start out about 1/2 hour before sunrise. I always enjoy watching the rising sun.
