Road Cycling “It is by riding a bicycle that you learn the contours of a country best, since you have to sweat up the hills and coast down them. Thus you remember them as they actually are, while in a motor car only a high hill impresses you, and you have no such accurate remembrance of country you have driven through as you gain by riding a bicycle.” -- Ernest Hemingway

Descending "The Mighty 190" yesterday, at a fine clip. The road's a bit torn up, but the lack of traffic more than makes up for that fact.

^^ view looking back up the hill ^^

Photos taken while snagging a few KOM's, so they aren't the best quality. French Creek Road, Detroit, Oregon.

Another sun up picture. Cooler weather is finally here in North Texas. It was about 48 degrees in the nature preserve this morning with light fog.

Thar would be an awesome place to live, I bet you'd have those roads all to yourself. Looks a lot like California, where are all the Red Rocks?

OK so it's a mountain bike trail I ride from time to time. After 5 or 6 miles of serious climbing, hit this section that tops out at 23% according to Garmin and about 1/2 mile long. Every time I reach it, being tired already, I look up and think O-M-G!
