That bike should make a great commuter bike. Is that a Michelin Man sticker on the seat tube?

Beautiful bike! If you haven't done so yet, show the folks over in the C&V section. Some of them would really dig this.

Crossroads Redo

One of the more popular "hybrids" of the 90's. This is a 1994 to 1996 Specialized Crossroads, 22" frame with various upgrades.

Sweet! Love the frame and the upgrades. Reminds me a little of my Schwinn Searcher.

So in Australia, you have everything in reverse, just like the British Front brake and front shifters is on the right side.

Shifter cables are probably criss-crossed for smoother routing.

I have been doing a lot of "off road" riding and climbing lately. There are a couple mountains behind the city that i live in (1000 something meters) and they have lots of gravel/dirt roads and very nice valleys to ride without the disturbance of any kind of traffic. The roads are full of trees and the only sound you hear is the birds chirping. I fell in love with this kind of riding. But i had to swap my city tires (700x35 slicks) with knobby larger tires especially for going downhill on those dirt roads (quite dangerous). I have tried 29x2.1 tires before and they were so bulky and heavy, and rather unnecessary for the type of roads that i am riding tbh. I needed something in between, like 700x45 (which translates to 29x1.75) with some teeth. I was checking our version of "craigslist" here and stumbled upon a couple of Smart Sams in mint condition (lucky me, they are 700x47). Here they are on my bike. Despite the fact that winter is almost here, i will try and get the most of warm /sunny days left.

Did a 34 km ride today. The frost has arrived, but no sign of snow, so pretty nice riding conditions overall. One of the rare opportunities to take off the fenders during autumn/winter/spring season.

2008 Trek 7300. Got it for super cheap local ($30). Since upgraded but I’m still not falling in love with it:

The only thing that is stock is the frame.

Here's an updated crappy pic after paint..

KHS Urban X frame
Kona P2 alloy fork
Sram GX 10 derailleur
SramX7 shifter
SunRace 11x42 cassette
Sram PC1031 chain
RaceFace Cadence crank
X Type BB
Shimano 42t 105 non ramped chainring
NukeProof pedals
Ritchey headset
Oval Concepts 100x6 stem
Answer AM bars
Avid FR5 levers
NukeProof lock on grips
SanMarco saddle
Kalloy seatpost
Specialized Stout disc wheelset

Here is a pic of it when I picked it up last month on Facebook Marketplace for $70
