What is the "unicorn" vintage bike?

which bike would you consider to be the crown jewel of vintage bikes? (lets keep it to the road bike category)

Problem is, they're all unicorns till they're not. I want to own them all, until I don't want to own them any more.

So you’ll get just as many answers to this question as folks replying. There will be no consensus.

Could a golf club be mounted in the same fashion as that rifle for a short five mile, uphill ride jumping a couple of curbs? Asking for another forum member.

Eddy's hour record bike?

If strictly limited to road bikes, then one of the bikes that he won the Tour (or Giro?) on.

Better keep the Mauser, it's heavier than the golf club = better workout.

really sad what has happened to his hour bike in the Subway Station... was repainted again, still a different graphic package and the seat post was slammed down!
one interesting feature is there are transverse tubes open and brazed into the chain stays from below. Someone on the CR group took some images in an almost worm's eye view.

Eddy or his eponymous bike company no longer own it, donated to the subway system, probably with a nice tax deduction.

I wrote to the bike company and as this was after Eddy sold, we're not really concerned.

The thrill is in the hunt. Once you've captured the unicorn it becomes just another stupid POS that your wife hates.

Sad and weird that the 'correct' Windsor decals were applied, but the seat post was left slammed.
