Pain cave setup for Trainer Road...view workouts on phone?

So, what's the best way to set up the room for using primarily trainer road workouts. I have a TV, but planning to use that for either watching TV or a movie or using Zwift concurrently. Does it work well enough to use a phone for the workouts or is the screen too small or otherwise annoying? If using a TR workout on an iphone, will it still function if you then say send a text message or do something in a different app? Trying to figure out the best approach. Thanks!

Yes, it works fine on a phone or tablet. I can run it on in the background on an iPad and watch a tv show on the same iPad.
If the screen of the phone is large enough, is up to you.

I have a handlebar phone mount. I changed to a tablet until I got a pc. I actually liked TR better on the phone, but I didn't like sweating on it.

I don't really remember, but I think I did the switch when I got a new phone.
