Addiction 2022.2

Notices
Road Cycling “It is by riding a bicycle that you learn the contours of a country best, since you have to sweat up the hills and coast down them. Thus you remember them as they actually are, while in a motor car only a high hill impresses you, and you have no such accurate remembrance of country you have driven through as you gain by riding a bicycle.” -- Ernest Hemingway

REI is switching its credit card from U.S. Bank to Capital One staring in August. I haven't yet read the notices closely, but I did see that you will now earn 1.5% on all non-REI purchases instead of the current 1% with U.S. Bank. I also noticed that you will no longer be able to take the portion of your dividend earned by using the card in cash or check.

Congrats. I have crap insurance, pay over 20K/year for it and have a 5K deductible for crappy coverage that short-changes physicians.

Perhaps Porsche decided owners would rather be locked out of their cars than have them stolen because the keys were in it?

That's either irony or adding insult to injury.

The individual market in New York is worse. That's why Mrs. rjones28 became a DJ.

EDIT: I think you CAN lock it with a fob inside if you use the lock button on another fob, however.
I’ve had Hondas that you couldn’t lock the doors with the key inside from the driver side but the passenger could do it by hitting the lock and shutting the door. My mother was an expert at doing that and my wife did it to me once, also. I haven’t checked my newer Hondas.

Moalpha’s race has started. They headed north of the rhumb line sailing slightly downwind, farther north than almost every other boat. Unless the wind direction changes, they could be in for a rough ride when they turn down toward Bermuda.

Those functions may be selectable from some menu in the car.

One time we had a Corvette customer call from home saying he couldn't get his car started. We sent a guy over there and he asked the customer "where is the fob?"
Customer insisted he could just jump in and go, didn't need a fob. Turned out he had left the fob in the car since new. He had been to a car wash that day and the workers had taken the fob out and he didn't notice they had forgotten to put it back in. When he was told to find the second fob in the house it started fine.

Different types of boats. You only compete against those in your class.

Malama is an IMOCA 60 race boat. Restive is a cruising boat. If Malama was not ahead, then something is wrong with it. Same with the cats way out front.
