Shimano 10 speed FD-5700 front derailleur on otherwise 11 speed 5800 drivetrain
I am upgrading from 10 speed to 11 speed. Can I use my old Shimano 10 speed FD-5700 front derailleur on otherwise 11 speed 5800 drivetrain, shifters chain etc. Also the crankset and chainrings are 10 speed 5700, if that matters.

The 10 speed 5700 crank and chainrings will for sure work with everything else 5800. I don't have 1st hand experience with the 5700 front derailleur but it has a different pull ratio and some say it won't work very well with 11 sp. shifters. I say try it and see and if no luck just get the 5800 derailleur and sell the 5700 since used parts are going for top $$ at the moment.

My son has a Trek Emonda that originally was all Tiagra 4700 10 speed stuff. I had some 105 5800 stuff laying around that I was going to put on my Raleigh but instead bought a new bike.
The crankset and front DR and rim brakes are still Tiagra 4700 on his Trek Emonda. The Rear DR, STI's are both 105 5800 with an 11 speed Shimano cassette that fit the existing freehub.

No. Well, maybe if you plan on using the 5700 STI lever. But the pull rates on 5700 and 5800 are very different.

Yup. pull rates are different. The Tiagra 4700 works with the 5800 because the 4700 is the only 10 sp groupset that has the same pull ratio as the 11 sp stuffs.
