My wife is amazing!!!

So I get a text from my wife yesterday:

My Answer:

Here's the bike. And I'm happy I told her yes! It is a 70's Centurion Le Mans, was on sale so actual price was $26.40. SunTour running gear & Malfac brakes, needs tires. I really like the work on the lugs, the bike is a beauty. May be a keeper for me. I happen to have a spare set of Suntour down tube shifters, and some Campy 700c wheel/tires, I'll have to check for brake fit of course...

She did good!
And yes she knows all about N+1

You've done a very good job in training your wife. If only more husbands could be like you.

My wife is pretty good but she would have kept that a secret from me.

I was working at a Peugeot/Nishiki dealership when those came out. I don't recall the Mafac brakes, but the cranks, shifters, derailleurs, decals, lugs, etc. do look very familiar. These were notably lighter than the equivalent Nishiki Olympiad/Olympic.

Good going . I don’t think I’ve seen that color before. My wife encourages me as well. After 26 years with my vintage Porsche the bike obsession is not a huge deal .

S-1 is a very large number with this one.

I find the font somehow familiar...

Nice! Roughly equivalent to the Fuji S10S/Special Road Racer, I'm guessing? Paint looks great.
