I believe you need fifty posts to get out of newbie status.

LOL. Got it.. My addiction only started last year, so I have a long way to go..HaHa..

I think I had 14 bikes at my peak and I'm down to 12 now. I'm starting to get more picky about what I restore/build.

I'm sure you've all been there.. Great Forum!

Number of bikes is one measure. Another is how deep you go into repair and restoration.

Over the years, I've invested more money in tools, parts and components rather than actual bikes. I've restored dozens and have sold them off to hopefully happy new owners. I currently have 2 bikes that I ride regularly and about half a dozen frames ready to be aligned, faced and built.

You all are great. My first couple of bikes were simple repairs, then I built myself a road bike and now I'm tearing bikes down to the frame and doing custom paint jobs. My next bike is a 1960 Dunelt which I'm looking forward to restoring. I've already received a lot of great advice through this forum.

Welcome to C & V.

Once you get to 10 posts, you can post pictures, and I think "Newbie" disappears.

...this is helpful. Also, be very careful about only choosing your ideal size frame as an acquisition. And it slows you down even more if you build wheels for your projects, using modern. lightweight, box section rims and stainless spokes. I noticed you said you were painting now, so that also tends in the right direction. Basically, the more laborious your projects, the fewer bikes you will acquire.

I wish someone had told me this fifteen years ago.
