Cyclocross and Gravelbiking (Recreational) This has to be the most physically intense sport ever invented. It's high speed bicycle racing on a short off road course or riding the off pavement rides on gravel like : "Unbound Gravel". We also have a dedicated Racing forum for the Cyclocross Hard Core Racers.

Railroad "ballast gravel." 4 miles of it. Deep and loose
I have a hard time finding dirt/fire roads and gravel up there. Gravelmap seems limited

So, I'll confess, I kinda cheated. I used RideWithGPS and crossreferenced it with New York Snowmobile Association trail maps: https://webapps2.cgis-solutions.com/nysnowmobile/
FWIW I've had good luck finding gravel by riding on the coattails of snowmobilers . ; ) This particular trail went about 50+ miles to Malone NY
.....your mileage may vary.

That rocking horse herd is hilarious. What possess people to collect something like that?

The Seven looks great, almost too clean though.

Dirty Boar ‘22

An organized gravel ride/race in the Hautes Fagnes (High Fens) region of the Ardennes Forest in Belgium. The route is changed every year, but is generally between 165-175km with 2300-2600m of climbing. This year it did not cross the border into Germany and the Hurtgen Forest. Schade, because the forest roads in Germany are absolutely sublime. There are no “official” options for a shorter route, but if you know how to read a map, usually a portion can be chopped off.

Looks like you hit on a great trifecta- pavement, gravel, and paths!

That is a helluva bike to start out on. Are those tires stock?...I have never heard of GravelKing SK 'SPORT' tires. The 'SPORT' is new...they have had the regular SK and the SK+. Panaracer's site doesnt show the 'SPORT' model. Are they tubeless?

Thanks, yeah I wanted something I could use for just about anything and the Aspero is perfect so I gave myself a little retirement present. The network of gravel routes in central Ohio is pretty spectacular and I've just started to explore. Go to https://www.ohiogravelgrinders.com to check it out.

The tires came with the bike, not sure why Panaracer doesn't show them. They weren't tubeless for that run but they are now. Next stop either more Central Ohio or over to the Canaan Valley area of WV, we'll see.

I didn’t-but I have a plain cheesecake in the freezer. Cambridge is usually a halfway stop on my 70-80 mile loops.

I have not been back to the Sods since 1980, but very glad to see it is still relatively unchanged.

Biggest change is things have grown back up a good bit and the crowds have gotten pretty big. I only go spring or fall and where it used to be isolated now feels a bit crowded. Too bad, the best thing used to be the feeling of isolation but can't keep a good thing a secret. Photo below is on a chilly Thursday afternoon in October at Bare Rocks.
